Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
AfterSnap turns photos and screenshots into useful actions such as contacts, events, reminders, expenses, notes, Wi-Fi connections, and translations. This policy explains what information is processed, why it is needed, and the choices you have.
Information You Choose to Process
AfterSnap processes content only when you capture, select, paste, dictate, or otherwise ask the app to handle it. Depending on the action, this may include:
- Photos and screenshots, including the subject crop prepared on your device before upload.
- Text visible in an image and text you enter or dictate.
- Structured fields extracted from that content, such as names, phone numbers, email addresses, dates, times, locations, reminder text, merchants, prices, receipt details, notes, Wi-Fi network details, and translations.
- Edits you make and the action you approve, such as adding a contact, calendar event, reminder, expense, note, or Wi-Fi configuration.
AfterSnap is not designed to process government identification documents or bank cards. Do not submit those items for recognition.
Device & Usage Information
We use Firebase services to receive limited diagnostics and usage information, which may include crash logs, performance data, app version, device model, iOS version, feature usage, and technical error information. This data helps us understand failures, maintain security, and improve reliability. Firebase may process this information as our service provider under its own data-protection terms.
How AI Processing Works
Before an image is uploaded, an on-device Core ML subject-mask model (U2NetP) may isolate and crop the relevant subject. The selected image or crop, extracted text, and relevant structured fields are then sent over an encrypted connection to AfterSnap’s Cloudflare Worker at api.aftersnap.app. The Worker acts as an OpenAI-compatible proxy and passes the request through OpenRouter to the configured Claude Sonnet model.
These services process your content solely to return the recognition result you requested. The AI path is configured for zero retention. AfterSnap does not use submitted content to train models, and our AI providers are instructed and configured not to use it for model training. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so avoid submitting unrelated sensitive information.
How We Use Information
- To recognize the content you selected and suggest the appropriate action.
- To display editable results and carry out an action only after you approve it.
- To maintain the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and improve product quality.
- To manage feature limits and confirm AfterSnap Plus subscription access through Apple.
- To respond when you contact support.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not use your content for targeted advertising.
- We do not use your photos, screenshots, extracted text, or structured fields to train AI models.
- We do not create a cloud library of your recognized results or edits.
- We do not automatically save suggested actions without your review and approval.
- We do not process government IDs or bank cards as supported content.
Data Sharing
We disclose information only where needed to operate AfterSnap:
- Cloudflare provides the API infrastructure that receives recognition requests.
- OpenRouter and the configured AI model provider process selected content to produce the requested recognition result.
- Google Firebase processes diagnostics, crash, performance, and limited usage information.
- Apple handles App Store downloads, purchases, subscriptions, and the iOS services you choose to write data to.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service from harm, in connection with a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards, or with your explicit consent.
Data Retention
Recognition request content is not retained by AfterSnap after the request is fulfilled, and the AI processing path is configured for zero retention. Recognized results and your edits remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Items you approve for Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Photos, or other iOS services are retained according to your device and iCloud settings.
Diagnostics and security logs are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for troubleshooting, reliability, security, and abuse prevention, subject to our providers’ retention controls. Support emails are retained as needed to answer your request and maintain an appropriate support record.
Security
We use encrypted transport and reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. Access to service systems is limited to people and providers who need it to operate and support AfterSnap. Despite these measures, no storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Your Choices
You decide what content to submit and whether to approve each suggested action. You may also control or revoke iOS permissions in Settings:
Some features will not work without their related permission. You can delete local results in the app, delete approved items in the destination iOS app, or remove AfterSnap and its local data. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of support or diagnostic information that can reasonably be associated with you, email us at support@aftersnap.app.
Children
AfterSnap is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their country to consent to data processing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes
We may update this policy as AfterSnap or applicable requirements change. We will post the current version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where appropriate.
